The Research Guest Account Request allows UAlbany faculty and staff to sponsor an account for a non-UAlbany collaborator who needs access to approved research storage, file transfer, HPC, or related research resources.

The same form may also be used to request an account for an NMR user or research instrument.

What’s Included

• Guest User Lab Account: Select this for a non-UAlbany collaborator who needs an individual account to access approved research resources, such as  research storage or HPC access.
• NMR Guest User Account: Select this for an individual who needs an account specifically for the NMR environment.
• Instrument Account: Select this for a research instrument or its associated workstation when the equipment needs a dedicated account.

What’s Not Included

• UAlbany email, Microsoft 365, or other services provided through a standard University NetID
• Changes to research group access for someone who already has the appropriate account. Use the Research Group Access Change Request Form instead

Eligibility

A UAlbany faculty or staff member must sponsor the request and provide the research purpose, resources needed, and requested length of access.
