Service Description
The New Shared Workstation Request allows departments to obtain a University‑issued desktop computer intended for use in shared spaces such as reception areas, service counters, student‑facing stations, or other multi‑user environments. ITS prepares, configures, and deploys these workstations to ensure they are secure, reliable, and properly recorded in the University’s equipment inventory.

Wired keyboard

Wired mouse

On‑campus deployment to the designated shared location

Inventory updates

Standard 6‑year replacement cycle management
What’s Not Included

Non‑standard or specialized hardware configurations

Personal or individually assigned workstations (handled through the New Faculty/Staff Workstation Request)

Equipment moves or removals (handled through the Workstation Equipment Move Request or Workstation Equipment Pickup and Removal Request)

Furniture or non‑ITS peripherals
Eligibility
Funding
- Departments requesting shared workstations not eligible for central funding must provide a departmental funding source.
Requestor Responsibilities

Ensure the shared location is ready for installation (desk space, power, network access)

Submit a Workstation Equipment Pickup and Removal Request when the shared workstation is no longer needed or the space is decommissioned
