Description
The Other Research Computing Support Request allows UAlbany researchers to request general assistance with research computing needs that are not covered by an existing service offering or support request.
This request may be used for general research technology questions, consultation about computing resources, or assistance determining which university-supported research computing services may be appropriate for a particular research activity.

- General consultation about research computing needs and available university-supported resources.
- Guidance on identifying appropriate computing resources, software, or technical services for research activities.
- Assistance with research computing questions that involve multiple services or computing environments.
- Help determining the appropriate service or support request for a research computing need.
- Other research computing assistance not covered by an existing service offering.
What's Not Included
- Requests for access to, or assistance with, specific research computing services, including the AI Supercomputer, High Performance Computing (HPC), and Research Storage. Use the corresponding service-specific request.
- Requests involving research workstations, research devices, or research application development and hosting. Use the appropriate request available through the Research Computing Service Catalog.
- Reporting problems with existing research computing services or equipment. Use the corresponding incident reporting form.
