High Performance Computing Access Request

Use this request to obtain access to UAlbany’s local high-performance computing environment for research workloads that require specialized computing resources.

High-performance computing may be appropriate for computationally intensive research, data analysis, simulations, batch processing, or other research workflows that cannot be completed effectively using a standard workstation. ITS can help determine whether the HPC environment is appropriate for the proposed work.

What’s Included

• Access to UAlbany’s high-performance computing environment for research workloads
• Shared computing resources for computationally intensive research, data analysis, simulations, and batch processing
• Support for establishing access under a faculty sponsor or principal investigator
• Initial guidance on connecting to and using the environment
• The standard 10 TB Research Storage allocation for the researcher’s lab or research group. See the Research Storage request page for information about the storage service.
• 10 TB of research storage. Please see the Research Storage request page for what is included with this request.

What’s Not Included

• AI Supercomputer Access. Use the AI Supercomputer Access Request Form 
• HPC or AI computing access for a course or class. Use the AI Supercomputing for Classes Request Form.
• Research Storage beyond the standard 10 TB allocation provided with this request. Use the Additional Research Storage Purchase Request Form in order to purchase storage beyond 10TB.
